Recently, I have been trying out a lot of products that are new to me, and I love sharing them on my blog. In 2014 I lived for the felt tipped eyeliner pen. I was constantly sporting winged liner. This summer I wanted to try something new and a bit more colorful.
I ordered
Colour Pop Cosmetic's Gel Liner in the shades
Prance and
Overboard just to add a bit more vibrancy to my everyday makeup. This is my first purchase from Color Pop and my first time using a gel liner.

My First Color Pop Purchase |
The first time I wore
Overboard a "warm metallic bronze" I applied it using
Real Technique's Silicone Liner Brush. Being a gel liner newbie I chose this brush because I thought it would be easier to apply and create a more fluid line. I was so wrong! I couldn't pick up much product on the tip of the brush and the line I created was not as sharp as I'm used to seeing from my felt tip liners. I was disappointed since Real Techniques is my go to for brushes.

"Overboard" a Warm Metallic Bronze |
When testing out
Prance I used
this angled liner brush and the results were so much better! The line was sharp and the brush picked up the product effortlessly. Initially when choosing this brush I was worried about the quality since it is a sore brand brush. Normally I don't like brushes with nylon-like bristles but for this particular product it is helpful to have a somewhat stiff brush.

"Prance" a Gorgeous Periwinkle Blue |
Both of these liners had amazing color payoff, in person the colors are much more vibrant. The liner also lasted all day. "Prance" is not a color I would normally choose for myself, but I actually really like it and I am glad I picked something out of my comfort zone. "Overboard" is darker than I expected but I think the metallic tone is a refreshing and unexpected change from the usual black or brown liner without being too bold. I would definitely purchase more of these from Colour Pop. I am excited to try other products from their collection as well.
