Today I tested out the Alba Botanica's Hawaiian Detox Sheet Mask. This is my first time using a sheet mask and I was really excited to find a cruelty free one!
Sheet masks are a product of the Asian skincare market, and while they have some really amazing and innovative products-- if they are sold in China they are (usually) tested on animals. I recently learned that mandatory testing was lifted on some products, but I still steer away from many Asian products for this reason.
My first thought when applying this mask was that its super saturated, there is no rinsing required after using this mask as it is serum enriched. So that wet feel the mask has is just all that great serum. Most sheet masks are not for my skin type either, so I was excited to find this one.

I like that this is super easy to use and relatively mess free. It's single use so you're not unhygienically dipping your fingers into a pot of clay. You simply unfold the mask and leave it on the skin for 5-15 minutes.
This particular mask is hypo-allergenic, vegetarian, and free of parabens, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances. Alba Botanica is one of my favorite brands for this reason. In the past I have also tried these products and loved the results!
Since changing up my skincare routine my pores have been much smaller, but after using this mask they seemed to shrink even more. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone with clogged or visible pores, or anyone with oily skin. The serum felt really nice on the skin and soaked in nicely after removing the mask.
This mask is especially great to use during the hot summer months. It feels cool when you put it on and it is relaxing to use.
Have you tried any sheet masks lately? Let me know in the comments.
